About Us
The Green Party is growing fast. We now represent people in Westminster and in a record number of local councils, as well as in the London Assembly.
Here in Carlisle, following the city council elections in 2019, we gained our first Green Councillor with Helen Davison. Following on from this, Helen was re-elected as our member for the new Cumberland Unitary Authority in May 2022, and is now working closely with Jill Perry (Bothel and Whorrels ward) to forward the green agenda. In addition, campaigns in Brampton and Castle ward saw a massive increase in the vote share for May’s elections.
We’re working progressively on local issues; to improve the lives of all people in Carlisle, and to improve our local environment. As part of the Green Party of England we share a deep concern for social and environmental justice, expressed through our national policies, we believe fair is worth fighting for.
We rely on people power rather than corporate finance in all that we do. Get involved with us today so that we can achieve so much more for Carlisle.
As the Carlisle & District Green Party we cover the local authority area of Carlisle City Council, including the towns of Longtown and Brampton, and villages of Dalston, Scotby and Wetheral.
